Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon says macaroni and cheese is disgusting. And he's right.

Matthew Judon is a two-time Pro Bowler, a NFL Defensive Player of the Year candidate and one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.

He’s also a truth-teller.

When asked to name his favorite Thanksgiving side dish, Judon said it’s dressing. However, what Judon doesn’t like to eat caused a stir.

Macaroni and cheese

“We got to get macaroni and cheese off the table,” Judon said during a Tuesday news conference. “It's just cheese and noodles and it’s not that good. Let's be honest guys, everybody probably here is a little lactose [intolerant], so it messes up our stomachs. We got to get it off the table. It's probably one of the most overrated dishes. Get macaroni and cheese off the table and it’ll be a much better Thanksgiving for everybody in the house.

“It’s disgusting. Get it off the table. The bathrooms will be less busy, and everybody will have a better day."

Linebacker Matthew Judon celebrates Sunday at Gillette Stadium after the Patriots defeated the Browns.

Safe to say the New England Patriots star won’t be indulging in macaroni and cheese Thursday – and I won’t either.

Sure, Judon and I are probably in the minority. But macaroni and cheese is nasty.

I’ll even go as far as to say it smells bad, too.

Granted, I’m not a fan of cheese at all. I’m not lactose intolerant, either.

When I get my Thanksgiving plate(s) this year, and every other year, I’ll pass right by the cheese and noodles without thinking twice about it. Not to mention, it’s not a healthy food option.

I’ve been lambasted plenty for my mac and cheese aversion, just like Judon has been since revealing the truth about the Thanksgiving abomination.

”Just noodles and cheese or something?” Judon’s teammate Devin McCourty said shaking his head. “I’ve never heard — like, that is just, I don’t know.”

“He needs to be fined and suspended the rest of the season,” one Twitter user responded to the revelation.

Others insisted Judon must have never tasted proper baked mac and cheese. Maybe those people didn’t listen to his full rant. Judon also said his entire family loves macaroni and cheese and his mom makes a huge pan of it every Thanksgiving. He’s tried it multiple times over the years and “it never gets better. It’s never going to change.”

The swift backlash piled up until Judon took to Instagram to respond to some of the comments he’d received.

“Man, I’ve heard of people going hard for neighborhoods, clicks, gangs — never sides,” Judon says to the camera. “I guess that’s what you get when you say something about macaroni and cheese.”

”I mean what is this?” Judon continues with a smile while a message appears on the screen. “Did you have to call me all these words? Speak about my wife like that? Over macaroni and cheese?”

Shout out to Judon for saying what needed to be said. By mere coincidence, I actually confessed my distaste for macaroni and cheese on the Thanksgiving edition of “It’s a Football Podcast” this week.

My Thanksgiving plate(s) will consists of turkey, dressing, gravy, ham, candied yams and greens. I’m not sure what will be on Judon’s plate. But what I do know, neither of us will be eating mac and cheese.

And as Judan said, it’ll be a much better Thanksgiving because of it.
