As the Oakland Raiders punter, Marquette King said he most closely identifies with … the Green Power Ranger. In fact, he boasted about talking to Jason David Frank, who portrayed the original Green Power Ranger on the superhero TV series that debuted in 1993.

When he's not dressed as a Raiders punter, Marquette King likes to don a Power Ranger costume.

“You see the Green Power Ranger and he can do things that the other Power Rangers can’t do,’’ King told USA TODAY Sports. “He’s just so swagged out."

Occasionally, King said, he dresses up as the Green Power Ranger. During a media event before the season started, he showed up wearing a power ranger helmet because he didn’t want to answer questions.

Frank, who portrayed the original Green Power Ranger, saw on Instagram photos of King wearing the helmet. He reached out to King and the two connected by phone, according to the Raiders punter.

“He said that’s really cool to see my fans all grown up,’’ King said, adding that Frank plans to attend a Raiders game in the near future. “That a be so tight. I’m definitely going to get a picture."
