NFL SCHEDULES
New York Jets

New York Jets have the strangest quirk of the 2019 NFL schedules

Jet lag is either a verifiable byproduct of rapid changes in time zone or a convenient excuse dreamed up by travelers to justify sleeping through that early-morning meeting.

Either way, it's not something the New York Jets will have to worry about in 2019.

This week's much-hyped β€” even overhyped, maybe? β€” release of the NFL team-by-team schedules for 2019 already has pundits guessing how the upcoming season will unfold. For the Jets in particular, the schedule features one amazing quirk:

Across the entire 16-game season, the Jets will never play a game outside of the Eastern Time Zone.

Jets quarterback Sam Darnold threw 17 touchdowns this season.

Second-year quarterback Sam Darnold, first-year head coach Adam Gase and the Jets will face their normal slate of six games against foes from the AFC East. The Jets will also face opponents from the NFC East, on the road against the Redskins and Eagles and at home against the Cowboys and Giants.

The Jets will also face the AFC North, traveling to the fringes of Eastern Time with a road trip to Cincinnati, and face Jacksonville on the road. There's one matchup against an opponent from AFC West in the Raiders, but that game is at MetLife Stadium.

In all, the Jets will cover 3,917 miles (one-way) in its road games in 2019. In comparison, the New Orleans Saints will go nearly 1,900 miles in its Week 2 matchup at the Los Angeles Rams.

Maybe this will be the key to the Jets' season: not having to go outside their comfort (time) zone.
