Angry Evander Kane tosses 6-foot-9 Zdeno Chara to the ice

Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara, at 6-9, 250 pounds, towers over the rest of the NHL.

But angry San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane, who weighs in at 6-2, 210, managed to spin around and throw an unprepared Chara to the ice with ease and get in a few punches early in the third period of Tuesday night's game in Boston.

Of course, it's hard to keep a big man down and Chara rebounded, standing up again, getting in his own set of punches and knocking off Kane's helmet before the fight was stopped and both headed to their respective penalty boxes.

Kane had a reason to be mad because of the hit that Chara had laid on him seconds earlier.

TSN reported that the NHL's player safety department looked at Chara's hit, but decided against scheduling a hearing.

Kane tweeted this after the news about the lack of hearing.

Chara received two minutes for elbowing and five for fighting.

Kane got 17 minutes - instigating, fighting and a misconduct - and then a game misconduct at the next break in play for mouthing off from the penalty box. He finished the night with 31 penalty minutes.
