Lightning captain Steven Stamkos out indefinitely after tearing meniscus
Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos is out indefinitely due to a "lateral meniscus tear in his right knee," the team announced Wednesday.
Stamkos suffered the injury in the Lightning's overtime win Tuesday against the Detroit Red Wings while battling for a puck along the boards.
"We are in the process of evaluating options for (Stamkos') repair and rehabilitation and will release more information as it becomes available," Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said in a statement.
