P.K. Subban scores twice in Predators' win vs. Lightning

In the first of three home games this week, the Predators won their fourth consecutive game at Bridgestone Arena, beating the Lightning 3-1 on Monday. They have a 6-1-1 home record this season, having earned 13 of their 19 points in Nashville.

Home sweet home: Bridgestone Arena is where the Predators have had most of their success this season. Defeating the Lightning, who entered Monday's game with a league-leading seven road wins and a 4-0 record on their five-game trip, was the product of a complete effort, which has happened infrequently this season. Nashville held Tampa Bay, one of the NHL's better offensive teams, to 25 shots.

Josi leaves game: Late in the third period, a high hit from Lightning forward J.T. Brown behind the Nashville net forced Predators defenseman Roman Josi to exit the game. He didn't return for the final 5:41, but said after the game he was fine and was removed as a precaution.

P.K., 'D' on the offensive: The Predators scored twice in the second period, taking a 3-0 lead courtesy of defenseman P.K. Subban, who ripped both past Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop from long range. His two-goal performance Monday was his first since Oct. 18, 2014. Subban leads Predators defensemen with five goals and 13 points, the latter of which is tied for forward Filip Forsberg for the overall team lead. Predators defenseman Ryan Ellis had three assists in a game for the first time in his career.

Rinne perfect: In what has become a fairly redundant exercise this month, Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne was outstanding again Monday, making 24 saves. He has allowed one or no goals in five of his past six starts, giving him a 1.32 goals-against average and .953 save percentage in nine November starts.

Up next: The Predators have one more game before Thanksgiving, hosting the Dallas Stars on Wednesday (7 p.m., Fox TN/102.5-FM). Wednesday's matchup will be the first of four consecutive games within the Central Division for the Predators, who are 3-3-0 in divisional play this season.
