SYDNEY (AP) β€” Wellington moved to within four points of the first-place Perth Glory with a 3-1 win Wednesday over Adelaide, moving past its opponent and level on points with the Melbourne Victory in the A-League.

After a scoreless first half at Adelaide, Kenny Cunningham put the New Zealand side ahead in the 54th minute before Sergio Cirio leveled for Adelaide in the 73rd.

But second-half substitute Tyler Boyd's goals in the 77th and in the third minute of injury time ensured Wellington pulled level with the Victory on 25 points each, two ahead of Adelaide.

The mid-week holiday round continues on New Year's Day when winless Asian champion Western Sydney hosts Central Coast. On Friday, the Victory plays Perth.
