Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers: Projected Starting Pitchers

RHP Zach Davies vs. LHP Caleb Ferguson

Davies hasn't lasted longer than 5 2/3 innings in either of his starts, but the Brewers are 2-0 in his two outings this season. Walks have gotten him in trouble, as he has issued six free passes with just seven strikeouts over 10 2/3 innings, although he has limited the damage with just two total earned runs.

The Dodgers counter with 22-year-old southpaw Caleb Ferguson, who has allowed just five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 7 1/3 scoreless innings across seven relief appearances. He has had nasty stuff, posting a 0.95 WHIP and .227 opponent batting average in his work out of the 'pen. This will be his fourth-career start in the majors.

Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers: By the Numbers

  • Dodgers SS Corey Seager has the most at-bats against Davies, going 3-for-11 (.273) with a home run, two RBI and a walk with an .879 OPS.
  • Dodgers 1B Cody Bellinger is killing right-handed pitching so far this season, hitting .475 (19-for-40) with three doubles, a triple, six homers and 13 RBI with six walks and just three strikeouts while posting a ridiculous 1.050 slugging percentage and 1.593 OPS.

  • Los Angeles ranks first in the National League - and third in the majors - with 32 home runs, and they lead the majors with an OPS of .919.
  • Milwaukee is in first-place in the NL Central despite a minus-3 run differential through 14 games.

Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers: Picks and Betting Tips

Moneyline: The Brewers ( +132) are 8-2 in their past 10 road games against a team with a winning record, and they're 15-6 in the past 21 against a left-handed starting pitcher. They're also 12-4 in the past 16 games against teams with a winning overall mark. For the Dodgers ( -152), they're 23-10 in their past 33 at home, but they're 0-5 in the past five vs. RHP and 0-5 in the past five against NL Central foes, too.

Against the spread: Milwaukee ( +1.5, -168) has the minus-3 run differential, and they're 1-4 in their past five as a favorite, so the run line isn't a good idea. The Dodgers (- 1.5, +144) are on a five-game slide, so avoid them with a guy making just his fourth start in the majors.

Over/under: The Over 9 at (-116) has connected in three in a row for Los Angeles, while going 7-1 in their past eight games at home. The over is also 7-3 in the past 10 vs. RHP. For the Brewers, the over is 4-0-1 in the past five vs. LHP, but the under is 21-7-1 in the past 29 with Davies on the hill. The over is worth a small-unit bet.
