RBC Heritage - PGA predictions and picks

Following a historic 2019 Masters Tournament at Augusta National won by Tiger Woods a larger, but weaker, field makes it's way to Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, SC for the 2019 RBC Heritage. The 7,099-yard, par-71 course is a common favorite among PGA Tour golfers.

Per Fantasy National , the following statistics have been correlated to success over the past four years and should be in the minds of RBC Heritage bettors.

  • Strokes Gained: Ball Striking
  • Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green
  • Strokes Gained: Short Game
  • Bogey Avoidance
  • Proximity 100-125 Yards
  • Par 3 Efficiency: 175-200 Yards

RBC Heritage - Tier 1

Patrick Cantlay (+2400)

The recently turned 27-year-old Cantlay outscored Tiger by five strokes over the weekend at Augusta, en route to a T9 finish in just his sixth major and second appearance at the Masters. He now comes to Hilton Head, where he finished T7 and T3 in each of the past two years. His eight made cuts in 10 events this year have resulted in five top 10s as he seeks his second career win.

Xander Schauffele (+1900)

Schauffele, 25, has two wins this season at the WGC-HSBC Champions and Sentry Tournament of Champions. He was a runner-up at Augusta and will make his second appearance at Harbour Town after finishing T32 last year. He ranks third in my stat model for the week over his past 50 rounds and rarely makes bogey.

RBC Heritage - Tier 2

Jim Furyk (+3400)

Furyk is one of three to win this event twice since 2000. Both victories came in a playoff, with the most recent being in 2015 when he snuck past current match play-champ Kevin Kisner. The 48-year-old has made eight of 10 cuts this season with a top finish of a runner-up at The Players Championship. He leads the field in the key proximity statistic.

Si Woo Kim (+3700)

Kim is coming off a T21 at the Masters on the heels of a T4 at the Valero Texas Open, a third at the Genesis Open and a fourth at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in his previous five events. Kim was the runner-up at last year's event after losing to Satoshi Kodaira in a playoff. He's ninth in the field in SG: Short Game over his past 50 rounds.

RBC Heritage - Longshots

Alex Noren (+10000)

Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY Sports

Noren is in bad form right now, but this is purely a matter of value too good to pass up. The Swede ranked eighth in the world as recently as the European Tour's 2017 Open de France, but he's fallen to 32nd in the Official World Golf Ranking with three missed cuts on the PGA Tour in 2019. He doesn't fit the stat model well and is making his first appearance at this event, but he's worth a sprinkle at 100/1.

Corey Conners (+9000)

The Valero Texas Open champ was near the top of the leaderboard at Augusta through most of Thursday before finishing T46 in his second Masters Tournament. He's been cut here in each of two tries, but he's striking the ball extremely well and is second in our key proximity distance.
