  • Vegas won just one of its final eight games in the regular season and dropped Game 1 of the first-round series before stringing together three straight wins.
  • Golden Knights clutter up the top of the postseason stat leaders with RW Mark Stone and LW Max Pacioretty, acquired via trade from the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens, respectively, sharing the playoff lead with 10 points.

  • Sharks D Erik Karlsson, also acquired via trade from the Senators this past year, leads his team with five points.
  • San Jose backup G Aaron Dell has twice replaced starter Martin Jones in the series. He's stopped just 31 of the 36 shots he's faced while Jones has a save percentage of just .838.

Vegas Golden Knights at San Jose Sharks: Projected Goalie Starters

Marc-Andre Fleury vs. Martin Jones

Fleury appears to have picked up right where he left off in last year's playoffs when the expansion Golden Knights made it to the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural season. The veteran has a .920 save percentage to rank seventh among starting goalies this postseason.

Jones has struggled to the worst save percentage of any goalie in these playoffs, after leading last year's postseason teams with a .928 mark in 10 games. It's a continuation of a poor regular season for the 29-year-old, as he stopped just 89.6 percent of the shots he faced over 62 starts.

Vegas Golden Knights at San Jose Sharks: Key Injuries

Sharks D Marc-Edouard Vlasic has a chance to return after missing the last two games. He played over 23 minutes in the series opener before suffering the injury on a blocked shot in Game 2.

Vegas Golden Knights at San Jose Sharks: NHL Best Bet

Moneyline: The Sharks are slight favorites at -115 to stay alive with a win on home ice. Vlasic's return on the backend will help limit Vegas' powerful offense. Side with the home team to play at least one more game.

Against the spread: The Golden Knights will keep it close if unable to get the outright win. If you must, take them at -270 to cover +1.5.

Over/under: The sportsbooks favor the OVER on the total of 6. We'll take the UNDER with better value at +111.
