NFL Betting: 5 2019 NFL Draft props to wager on

Ken Pomponio

After seemingly endless weeks of mock 2019 NFL Drafts, pro workout days and big-board updates, NFL Draft week is at last upon us.

That also means there are only a few precious days to take what we've gleaned from the pre-draft process and hone in on a few of the more attractive proposition NFL Draft bets from the ever-expanding bookmaker draft menu.

For our purposes, we've limited ourselves to the props posted at the State-side books William Hill, South Point (Las Vegas), FanDuel and Points Bet and compared them with the averages from four recent NFL Mock Drafts conducted by ESPN's Mel Kiper and Todd McShay, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, USA Today's Nate Davis and the MMQB's Jenny Ventras.

Here's what look to be five value plays:

First round picks: Defensive players -2½ offensive players (William Hill)

In three of the four mock drafts examined, the offense came out dead even or even slightly ahead with the quarterbacks (four on average) and offensive linemen (6.25 on average) leading the way. Take the 2½ at -110.

Number of offensive linemen selected in first round over/under 5.5 (Points Bet)

We just gave this one away as we're going with the over here at -176. All four of the mocks have at least six O-linemen coming off the board among the first 32 picks.

Total number of ACC and Big Ten players taken in first round O/U 10.5 (William Hill)

This emerged as one of our strongest plays with a combined 13 selected in three of the four mocks we examined and 12 in the other. All four of the mock exercises had six Big Ten players going in the first round and three of the four had seven ACC selections. Pound the over here at -110.

Draft position: Drew Lock O/U 10½ (William Hill)

The buzz around the Missouri quarterback has been up and down over the last four months, but the needle seems to have settled on a down position here of late with fellow QBs Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins and Daniel Jones getting more high-pick hype as the draft approaches. All four of our mock drafts agree and have Lock going 13 th or later with an average pick of 21.25. Go with the over at -110, with him likely to be drafted later than the sportsbook predicts.

We thought there would be a little more variance here, but three of the four mocks went with Oklahoma's Marquise "Hollywood" Brown as the top wideout off the board (all in the 15-25-pick range) with only Ventras going with Ole Miss' D.K. Metcalf. That makes Brown's +210 price even more attractive.
