LHP James Paxton vs. LHP Madison Bumgarner

Paxton is 2-2 with a 3.10 ERA and a 43/8 K-BB ratio in five starts. He tossed six scoreless innings in his last outing, striking out 12 and allowing three hits and a walk vs. the Kansas City Royals Sunday. But he was left with a no-decision as the bullpen blew a 4-0 lead - the Yankees won 7-6 in the 10th. He has never faced the Giants in his seven-year career.

Bumgarner is 1-3 with a 3.66 ERA and a 30/5 K-BB ratio in five starts. He lost his last start, yielding four runs on six hits and one walk in six innings of a 4-1 loss at the Pittsburgh Pirates last Friday - he struck out seven. The 11-year veteran has only faced the Yankees once in his career, getting a no-decision in a two-run, seven-inning performance in 2016.

New York Yankees at San Francisco Giants: Picks and Betting Tips

Moneyline: Look for the Yankees ( -124) to rebound from Thursday's loss as the strongest play of these three options. Plus, the Giants' Bumgarner hasn't shown he's his usual self. The Giants are +108.

Against the spread: At -1.5, +152, the Yankees are a good value for a small-unit play. The Giants are +1.5, -180.

Over/under: You never know with Bumgarner, but the OVER 6.5, +100 is worth a small play.
