Pittsburgh Pirates at Los Angeles Dodgers: Projected Starting Pitchers

RHP Trevor Williams vs. LHP Rich Hill

Williams has been great for the Pirates, pitching five consecutive quality starts to open the season. He's gone at least six innings every time out and has allowed a high of three earned runs just once. The 27-year-old is striking out just 6.03 hitters per nine innings, but he's issuing only 1.72 walks and 0.57 home runs per nine. He's dropped both his rates of flyballs and hard contact.

D. Mountain will make his first start of 2019 after straining his knee in spring training. He didn't allow a single run and struck out eight over four innings in one rehab start at High-A.

Pittsburgh Pirates at Los Angeles Dodgers: By the Numbers

Pittsburgh Pirates at Los Angeles Dodgers: Key Injuries

The Pirates have an extensive list of injuries including Jose Osuna, Corey Dickerson, Starling Marte, Erik Gonzalez, Kevin Newman, and Lonnie Chisenhall. RPs Nick Burdi and Edgar Santana also remain sidelined.

Dodgers OF Andrew Toles remains away from the team due to a personal matter. RP Tony Cingrani isn't likely to rejoin the team until early May.

Pittsburgh Pirates at Los Angeles Dodgers: Picks and Betting Tips

Moneyline: The Pirates' disastrous slide of late can be largely blamed on the plethora of injuries plaguing the club. They've struggled against lefty pitching all year and face an elite one in Hill. Take the Dodgers at -190.

Against the spread: The better value lies with Los Angeles to cover -1.5 at +110. Five of the Pirates' last seven losses were all by two or more runs.

Over/under: Take the UNDER on the total of 8 (-104) with Hill likely to stifle the Pirates' bats.
