Prediction

Rockies 8, Athletics 5

Money line (ML)

The ROCKIES (+145) are the play as home underdogs. Senzatela has been lights out in his hitter-friendly home ballpark, while Manaea's overabundance of contact given up is a worrisome stat in a locale where balls have a tendency to leave the park.

Colorado won two games in Oakland in late July by a combined score of 13-4. The Rockies will keep it going in the head-to-head series against the top team in the AL West.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

ROCKIES +1.5 (-106) is a fine play for the insurance of one run in the event of a loss. The Athletics have the best bullpen in baseball while the Rockies rank 29th with a group ERA of 6.82.

Should Manaea struggle early, the A's will quickly turn to the 'pen and quiet the Colorado bats. Oakland will also be able to tack on some late runs once Senzatela is pulled from the game to potentially tighten the score.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the OVER 11.5 (-110) with Manaea's high hit rate likely to help prop up the Rockies' total. The head-to-head set in Oakland earlier this season split to either side of the projected total but each game saw at least 6 runs scored. Coors adds on a few more to that figure.
