Liberty at Virginia Tech: Three things to know

  1. The Flames head into this one with six wins and no losses straight up, while covering each of the past three. They haven't been an underdog since Sept. 19, their opener at Western Kentucky, and they won outright 30-24 as 14.5-point underdogs.
  2. Liberty enters with 471.3 total yards per game (17th in the country), 255.5 rushing yards (6th) and 38.0 points (16th) per game. Liberty at Virginia Tech: Odds, prediction, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Virginia Tech 41, Liberty 34

Money line (ML)

Virginia Tech (-589) will cost you nearly six times your potential return, as they're the heavy favorites despite actually being ranked lower than visiting Liberty (+425). If anything, the high-flying Flames are worth a small-unit play. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

LIBERTY (+14.5, -110) is a strong play catching 14 and a hook. Head coach Hugh Freeze has this team playing just as well as the ACC's Virginia Tech (-14.5, -110), and they're certainly fast and strong enough to hang with the middling Hokies. A spread of this nature is, quite frankly, a slap in the face of the Flames. Bad for them, but good for you. Take advantage.

Over/Under (O/U)

Play the OVER 67.5 ( -110) in this non-conference tilt for the Hokies. Virginia Tech has posted 38 or more points in five of its six games to date, hitting the Over four times. Liberty dropped 56 on Southern Miss last time out, and scored 38 in a win over the ACC's Syracuse Orange on the road in Week 7. This team has scored 28 or more points in each of its six games to date. This will be a track meet.
