West Virginia vs. Morehead State odds: Mountaineers expected to roll in March Madness Round 1
The Morehead State Eagles (23-7) meet the West Virginia Mountaineers (18-9) at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis Friday for a 9:50 p.m. ET tip-off.

Morehead State, most famously known in sports as being the alma mater of Super Bowl QB Phil Simms, quietly had a 20-win season in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Eagles roughed up the OVC's top-seeded Belmont by an 86-71 score in the tournament final as 7-point underdogs to snap up the league's automatic bid.
It wasn't a fluke, as the Eagles also soared past the Bruins 89-82 in overtime in the regular-season finale as 3.5-point underdogs. Morehead State enters on a seven-game win streak, and it is 4-1 ATS across the past five outings. The Eagles' last setback was against Belmont in Nashville by a 73-58 score Feb. 13. The Eagles covered in 19 of 28 games for which a spread was offered.
The Eagles haven't appeared in the NCAA Tournament since 2011. They topped 4-seed Louisville that season, and they're 3-3 straight up across their past six tournament appearances. Overall, they have won six of their 14 NCAA Tournament game appearances.

West Virginia bowed out in the first game of the Big 12 Tournament, falling 72-69 to Oklahoma State as a 3-point favorite. The Under (149.5) connected. The Mountaineers enter the NCAA Tournament on a 1-3 SU/0-4 ATS skid, including a pair of losses to OSU and against top-seeded Baylor.
They finished 13-14 ATS this season, which is a bit inconsistent. Total bettors enjoyed the Mountaineers, however, with the Over cashing in 13 of their last 17 outings.
The Mountaineers are back in the Big Dance for the first time since 2018 when they made a run to the Sweet Sixteen before exiting against Villanova. They haven't lost in the first round since getting bounced by Stephen F. Austin in 2016.
