Devils at Flyers: Projected starting goalies

Mackenzie Blackwood (7-8-1, .908 SV%, 2.91 GAA) vs. Carter Hart (8-7-3, .875 SV%, 3.83 GAA)

Blackwood has been sharp over his last two outings, stopping a combined 68 of 71 shots for a .958 SV% in starts against the Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins. The tandem efforts were on the heels of a rough stretch that saw the 24-year-old netminder register a mere .840 SV% over six outings from Feb. 27-March 13. When he's not going well, Blackwood has mostly been undone by high-danger shots and power-play goals.

Hart has been roughed up in general all season, but he's really been undone in recent performances. Since logging a 28-save shutout against the Sabres Feb. 28, the 22-year-old has gone 2-4-0 with a .821 SV% in his last eight games. He is coming off a clunker in which he allowed six goals against the New York Islanders Saturday. One bright spot: He has faced the Devils three times over the last two seasons and has stopped 81 of 85 pucks for a .953 SV%.

Devils at Flyers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Buffalo 4, Philadelphia 3

Money line(ML)

Philadelphia played Monday night and lost an overtime game 2-1 to the Islanders. With that setback, the continuing-to-disappoint-Flyers are now 3-6-1 over their last 10 games.

The Devils have struggled on the power play of late, going 3-for-their-last-35. New Jersey exhibits solid 5-on-5 puck-possession metrics, at least in spurts, and Blackwood has been sharp in the last week.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Flyers have coughed up 4 goals or more in eight of their last 12 games. On just a slight-to-moderate lean, consider the OVER 6 (-110).
