Syracuse vs. Houston odds: Cougars favored in Sweet 16
The Syracuse Orange (18-9) meet the Houston Cougars (26-3) in an NCAA Midwest Region semifinal on Saturday night. The 11-seeded Orange and second-seeded Cougars are scheduled to tip-off at 9:55 p.m. ET in the Sweet 16 tussle at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Syracuse advanced to the Sweet 16 via wins against San Diego State and West Virginia. Over those two games, the Orange bludgeoned the Aztecs and Mountaineers in the shooting department: SU outshot its foes, 53.5% to 36.5%.
A peaking-at-the-right-time Syracuse five is now 5-1 over its last six games and 8-3 over its last 11. G Buddy Boeheim has had the hot hand in that Orange surge. Boeheim - who has scored 55 points in the tournament - has averaged 24.2 points over his last nine games.
Houston went into the tournament on a surge of its own. With their offense leading the way, the Cougars reeled off seven straight wins before heading to Indiana.
Three of those were in the American Athletic Conference Tournament which UH won. After wins over Cleveland State and Rutgers - the latter in a monster comeback late in the game - the Cougar win streak now stands at nine.
Over those nine straight wins, Houston has been improved in taking care of the basketball (just 8.2 turnovers per contest) and in launching it from beyond the arc (37.8% accuracy).
The Cougars are in their second straight Sweet 16: UH fell to Kentucky in a 2019 Midwest Region semifinal.
