Ilya Samsonov (8-1-1, 2.39 GAA, .908 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Igor Shesterkin (7-8-1, 2.34 GAA, .924 SV%)
Samsonov picked up the win in Sunday's 5-4 victory over the Rangers, although he made just 16 saves on 20 shots. It wasn't pretty, but he has won six of his past seven outings. He was actually better against the Rangers in a loss March 20, when allowing 2 goals on 24 shots.
Shesterkin was on the short end of a 2-1 loss against the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday, and he has allowed 3 or fewer goals in each of his four outings in March. The last time he faced the Caps he allowed just 1 goal on 27 shots Feb. 20 in D.C., and he is 2-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .950 SV% in two outings against Washington this season.
