The Phillies dropped two of three games at the Colorado Rockies over the weekend and are just 5-10 since opening the season with five wins in their first six games.
The Cardinals swept a weekend set against the Cincinnati Reds and head into this series with a three-game win streak in tow. The St. Louis offense has been decent with 4.6 runs per game, but its one that has been hampered by low a batting average on balls in play in clutch situations.
Wheeler is solid but over his career has been marginally better on four days' rest than with five, which is the interval here. Wainwright has pitched better than his surface line would indicate, as he has been dinged by a .382 BABIP, and he's more of a home-field-advantage hurler than most with career 2.87 ERA at home.
