New Orleans Pelicans at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and prediction

Jess Root
Sportsbook Wire

The New Orleans Pelicans (31-39) play their final road game of the year Friday night against the Golden State Warriors (37-33). Tip-off is 9:30 p.m. ET at Chase Center. Below, we analyze the Pelicans-Warriors odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Pelicans were eliminated from playoff contention after losing three of their last four games. They have struggled on the road this season, going 13-22 away from home. Their last game was a 125-107 loss to the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday.

The Warriors have locked in a play-in tournament berth, but whether they are the No. 8 seed or No. 9 seed will be determined in the final two games of the regular season. They have won four games in a row, and they play their final two games of the season at home - where they are 23-11.

Pelicans at Warriors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Warriors 115, Pelicans 107

Money line (ML)

The Warriors and Pelicans split two games in New Orleans May 3-4. Head coach Steve Kerr said that PG Stephen Curry, PF Draymond Green and SF Andrew Wiggins were all a little banged up, and they could rest tonight. This has skewed the odds quite a bit.

Golden State has been good at home and the Pelicans have been very bad on the road, going 13-22 away from home. They have lost three of four games on their current road trip, while the Warriors have won four games in a row in Chase Center.

Try to wait until closer to game time, but we're leaning WARRIORS -135.

Against the spread (ATS)

The Warriors are an even 35-35 ATS this season while the Pelicans are 34-36 ATS. But the Warriors are 21-13 ATS at home. The Pelicans, despite their struggles to win on the road, are 18-17 ATS away from home.

The Warriors have covered the spread in all four of their wins during their winning streak and have covered the spread in six of their last seven games. The Pelicans have covered the spread in four of their last five games.

I lean WARRIORS -2 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The season-long and recent trends for both teams are opposite. The Pelicans have the second-highest Over percentage in the league at 58.6%. The Warriors have the second-lowest at 41.4%.

However, Golden State's last three games have gone Over, while five of the last six games and nine of the last 11 for the Pelicans have gone Under.

The Warriors are averaging 118.5 games in their last eight games. The Pelicans are averaging 108.7 in their last six games. Keeping that average up won't get them to the total.

There's a good chance at least two of the three for the Dubs could sit this one out with the other resting in the season finale. Take UNDER 224.5 POINTS (-110).
