The 5-seed Atlanta Hawks and 4-seed New York Knicks play Game 5 of their Eastern Conference first-round series Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Hawks vs. Knicks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Hawks have pushed the Knicks to the brink of elimination, leading 3-1 in the series. Atlanta won Game 1 at MSG by a 107-105 score, and lost 101-92 in Game 2. However, both victories in Atlanta were by double-digits.

The Knicks shot just 42% from the field in Game 4, and 31% from behind the arc (9-for-29). That was actually up slightly from Game 3 when New York was just 36% from the field, and 30% from the perimeter. If that type of cold shooting continues, the Knicks will be polishing up the golf clubs soon.

The KNICKS (-120) didn't show a lot of pride in their two games in Atlanta, but they'll be back in front of a hungry home crowd at Madison Square Garden. That should spur them on and force a Game 6 with the Hawks in Atlanta Friday.

Against the spread (ATS)

KNICKS -1.5 (-110) is the play, and all they need to do is win by a bucket. The public is on New York at nearly a 2-to-1 clip, and that makes me a little nervous. But I feel the Knicks at home, perhaps their last game of the season in front of their die-hard fans.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 207.5 (-115) is worth a small-unit play in Game 5. We finally saw an Over result in Game 4 after a trio of Unders to start the series. Atlanta dropped 113 on New York in Game 4. While the Knicks have failed to hit triple digits since Game 1, I think they have an offensive resurgence in this one.
