Gilberto Ramirez vs. Sullivan Barrera fight odds, picks and prediction
We get a 12-round light heavyweight bout Friday when Gilberto Ramirez and Sullivan Barrera meet at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. The fight's expected to start shortly after 11:30 p.m. ET. Below, we break down the Ramirez vs. Barrera odds, with boxing picks and predictions.
The fight card will stream live on DAZN.
Ramirez, a.k.a. "Zurdo", went the distance in two of his past four bouts. While he has been getting wins, he hasn't been terribly clean lately. His win over Jesse Hart Dec. 14, 2018, could have easily gone the other way. He picked up a 10th-round TKO win over Alfonso Lopez last time out, but this is a step up fighting the Cuban brawler Barrera, so he'll have to be on his toes.
Barrera lost a unanimous decision to Hart June 15, 2019, so they have a common opponent, and rather recently. Prior to that, he earned a unanimous decision win over Sean Monaghan after a loss to Dmitry Bivol, with both fights in 2018. That TKO loss to Bivol was in the 12th round, so he proved he can go toe-to-toe with the top options in the division and show well.

Ramirez vs. Barrera: Odds, predictions and picks
Ramirez (-1000) will cost you 10 times your potential return, or just $10 return on every $100 risked. That's not an option. Over the long term that's a losing betting strategy.
AVOID.
Ramirez vs. Barrera best bet
I like RAMIREZ ON POINTS (-150) for much less risk. Two of his past four fights went the distance, as he has stepped up in competition and started facing some serious fighters. I think he can do enough to wow the judges against the brawler Barrera, but the challenger is tough as nails, and this will be anything but a walk in the park.
Since the play is Ramirez on points, you can also go YES (-200): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE FULL 12 ROUNDS. You still have to risk two times your potential return, but it's a much better strategy than betting the heavy favorite straight up on the 2-way.
