Fantasy football draft: Where to target New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry

Joe Williams
Sportsbook Wire

New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry moves to a new organization and new situation where he'll have to share the wealth at his position. Below, we look at Hunter Henry's 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Henry combines forces with fellow newcomer TE Jonnu Smith in head coach Bill Belichick's retooled offense, and both players should see a rather significant role in 2021. It will be interesting to see how the touches are distributed amongst the bulky duo.

Henry's ADP: 139.72

Henry will pair with Smith (average pick - 126.24) in the new-look New England offense. Henry has been the 16th tight end off the board in most fantasy formats, while Smith has gone just ahead of him as the 15th tight end drafted.

Where should you take Henry in your fantasy football draft?

Henry was actually much more productive than his counterpart Smith, although he never really had to share the position with a player of similar caliber before.

Henry rolled up career highs with 60 grabs and 93 targets, and he has managed at least 579 receiving yards in each of the past three seasons he played while going for four or more touchdowns in each of his four NFL campaigns.

You can expect similar production from Henry and Smith in Belichick's offense. It will be maddening to some fantasy managers as one week one player might have a giant stat line, followed by an absolute egg-laying the next.

You can start looking to Henry and Smith starting in Round 10. Plan to have a backup plan, too, as those erratic stat lines are going to be frustrating. Belichick doesn't care about your fantasy team, and will ride the player each week whom he feels gives his team the best chance to win. Just be careful.
