2022 Minnesota Vikings' win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

John Holler
Sportsbook Wire

After missing the playoffs the last two seasons, the Minnesota Vikings fired coach Mike Zimmer and General Manager Rick Spielman and are moving forward with former Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell as its new coach.

Below, we look at the Minnesota Vikings' 2022 NFL futures odds - including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook - with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions

With established players across the offense, including QB Kirk Cousins, RB Dalvin Cook, WR Justin Jefferson and WR Adam Thielen, the Vikings' offseason focus was clearly on improving the 30th ranked defense from 2021.

They team added LBs Za'Darius Smith and Jordan Hicks, DT Harrison Phillips and CB Chandon Sullivan in free agency and used its first two draft picks on S Lewis Cine (Georgia) and CB Andrew Booth (Clemson).

The Vikings are convinced they have the offensive firepower to win games and a new-look 3-4 defense that looks to be much improved.

Minnesota Vikings' 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday, May 14 at 3:41 a.m. ET.

Over/Under: 8.5 (O: -130 | U: +110)

Minnesota couldn't have been handed a better slate of opponents outside the division. The NFC East is viewed as the weakest division in the NFC and the AFC East is clearly the third (or fourth) best top-to-bottom division in the AFC.

The most difficult portion of Minnesota's schedule comes after its Week 7 bye, when the Vikings face four 2021 playoff teams in a 5-week span. However, 3 of those games are at noisy U.S. Bank Stadium, where the Vikings have historically held a distinct advantage.

The key to this bet is what has helped the Packers hit the Over so often - 4 games against the Bears and Lions. Both teams are in complete rebuild mode and winning 5 games will be viewed as an achievement. If the Vikings can take care of its business against those two teams and take out dregs like the Jets and Giants at home, they won't need many more wins to get to 9.

TAKE OVER 8.5 (-130).

Minnesota Vikings' 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

Anyone who knows the Vikings know they have never won a Super Bowl. They haven't even made the big game in almost 50 years, so to expect a first-year coach to end a lifetime of misery for Minnesota fans may be asking too much.

Minnesota has the horses to make a run at the Super Bowl, but there are just too many elite teams in the AFC that are better than anything the NFC has to offer.

The Vikings are in the same statistical probability as the Saints, Patriots, Raiders and Dolphins - and very few are even predicting any of those teams to win their divisions, much less the Super Bowl.

While the number is tempting for a small wager with big payout potential, the best option here is to PASS.

Minnesota Vikings' 2022 playoff odds

Will Vikings make the playoffs: Yes +105 | No -130

Much like the Over/Under prediction, when it comes to the Vikings making playoffs, you have to look at who will be in contention. The only legitimate division competition is Green Bay and, if QB Aaron Rodgers goes down, the team could tank and Minnesota makes the playoffs that way.

In my view you realistically can almost eliminate the Giants, Commanders, Bears, Lions, Falcons, Panthers and Seahawks from legitimate playoff consideration considering their current status. I envision 3 playoff teams coming out the NFC West, so that only leaves 1 spot between the Vikings, Saints and Eagles for a wild-card berth.

Minnesota plays both the Saints and Eagles this season on the road early on and both games could weigh heavy in January. Minnesota has an easier schedule than either of those two, so if the Vikings split those 2 games, it should be enough for MINNESOTA TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS (+105).

Odds to win NFC North Division

  • Chicago Bears +900 (bet $100 to win $900)
  • Detroit Lions +1000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)
  • Green Bay Packers -180 (bet $180 to win $100)
  • Minnesota Vikings +270 (bet $100 to win $270)

The Packers are the prohibitive favorite, but if anything happens to Rodgers, who has toyed with the idea of retirement already, the division would be wide open.

There's a reason the Vikings are +270, but, unlike a lot of other teams that are facing two or three division contenders, the clear sentiment here is that Minnesota and Green Bay are the only two with a chance.

If Rodgers stays healthy, the Packers win. But, it's a risk worth taking to bet MINNESOTA WINS THE NFC NORTH (+270) with a small wager.

Odds to win NFC

Odds: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

While I don't see the Vikings as a team good enough to make it through the playoff gauntlet to win it all, I also like the flyer bets that, once a team gets into the playoffs that anything can happen.

The Vikings are getting 20:1 on investment here and, while admittedly a long shot, a small wager should be made for the VIKINGS TO WIN THE NFC (+2000).
