YOUTH SOFTBALL

Another title for Fairhaven Firestorm

The Fairhaven Firestorm 10U softball won its second tournament championship of the year, beating the Mass Madness 2-0 in the championship game of the 14th Annual Eddie Silvia Softball tournament on Fatherā€™s Day in Dighton. 

Sophia Almeida threw a no-hitter for a complete-game shutout, allowing three walks while striking out six. Almeida, Mackenzie Lee, Zoey Hemphill, Gabby Sadeck and Charlotte Sousa each had a hit for Firestorm. Lee scored the gameā€™s first run in the first inning while Sadeck added an insurance run in the fourth.

On the way to the championship, Firestorm beat the Seekonk Warriors 12-0 in the quarterfinals and Xtreme 10-0 in the semifinals with complete-game shutouts on the mound from Lee and Bri Phaneuf. Lee pitched three innings against Seekonk, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out seven. Phaneuf struck out 10 while allowing two hits and no walks in the win over Xtreme. 

Fairhaven Firestorm 10U won the Eddie Silvia Softball tournament on Father's Day in Dighton for the team's second trophy of the year.

Against Seekonk, Lee and Almeida each had inside-the-park home runs. Against Xtreme, Almeida, Sousa, Emma Leite and Kylie Pestana had two hits apiece. 

In 11 tournament games, Firestorm has outscored the competition a combined 85-3. 

Firestorm players include Almeida, Hemphill, Sadeck, Lee, Leite, Phaneuf, Pestana, Sousa, Lexi Pequita, Aria Camara and Aubrey La Fountain.

Monday, June 10

A.C.G. 4, Palace Pizza 4: Liam Cubero cracked a home run, Sylas Jorge had two hits, Aiden Girouard, Christopher Castellano and Jacob Neto also had hits for Palace in a well played game between two evenly matched teams. A. C. G. was sparked by the bat of Landon Medeiros, who had two hits. Landon Amaral, Tony Correia and Ludwig Berroa all chipped in offensively as well for A.C.G. Liam Cubero and Aiden Girouard combined to strikeout 15 A.C.G. hitters while Landon Amaral and Ludwig Berroa combined to strikeout 15 Palace hitters. Both teams tallied eight hits each as well.

T.S. Sports 5, Kitchens & Baths 4: Yaniel Talavera and Carter Correia combined to cool down the K&B bats. The duo scattered four hits with seven strikeouts on the way to capturing their teamā€™s fifth win of the season. The Kitchen Crew was led by Corey Bonds two hits, Nolan Sousa, Isaac Lague and Jameson Silva all drove in runs for Manager Nate Silvaā€™s team. T.S. Sports scored early putting up four runs in the top of the first inning, led by Jackson Libby, Bobby Seamans, Wesley Rodrigues, Julian Baker and Kason Soares.

Tremblay Bus 16, Table 8 Restaurant 0: The Bus Company pitching was on point as Tucker Wilcox, Owen Baptista, and Nathaniel Martinez combined to strike out 11 and allow one Table 8 hit. Tremblayā€™s rapped out 15 hits as a team led by Martinez, Isaac Teixeira, Wilcox, and Syncere Lugo all had multiple hits, additionally Noah Landers and Leland Hathaway had their first career hits for Tremblay Bus.

DeBross Oil 10, Wonder Bowl 5: Tanner Cabral, Tucker Torrey, and Zhakiye Guidry all had hits for Wonder Bowl. The DeBross bats came out booming. Logan Pacheco went 3-for-4, Austin Rodrigues 2-for-3, Camden Harrison 2-for-2, Max Mutnansky, Jonathan DaSilva, and Mikey Galarza also chipped in key hits for the Oilers. Jonathan DaSilva was the winning pitcher for DeBross Oil.

Tuesday, June 11

DeBross Oil 15, N.B. Fire 2: Max Mutnansky and Austin Rodrigues combined to allow one N.B. Fire hit while striking out 11. The one hit for the Fire Department was a J.C. Robles first inning triple. DeBross unleashed a 17-hit attack that resulted in 15 runs. Mutnansky, Rodrigues, Logan Pacheco, and Parker Pacheco each had three hits. Jonathan DaSilva, Ben Bedard, Cam Harrison and Niko Costa chipped in with hits as well. Max Mutnansky was the winning pitcher for DeBross.

Apex Electrical 15, LeBeauā€™s 3: Ethan Dube had a nice night at the plate driving in four runs, and on the mound he tossed four innings to earn the win for the Electric Company. He scattered seven hits while striking out seven LeBeauā€™s hitters. Reuben Vazquez, Dakota Gamage, and Lucas Santos continued their fine play, all three driving in runs to insure the win for Apex. Owen Viera and Mason Graveson had multiple hits for LeBeau's.

South Coast Towing 3, Daveā€™s 1: In a pitcherā€™s duel, South Coast pitching would allow just two hits, while Daveā€™s pitching would scatter just three hits. Jose Martinez of South Coast struck out nine Daveā€™s hitters, while Sean Pimental of Daveā€™s struck out 10 South Coast hitters. The big blow of the game would happen in the bottom of the fifth inning when South Coastā€™s Brayden Douglass would knock in Bryce Alfaiate and Jose Martinez with what would prove to be the game-winning run. Cam Messier, and Brady Turgent also had hits for the Tow Company. Richie Gaskins scored the lone run for Daveā€™s.

Amaralā€™s Linguica 12, Palace Pizza 3: Ben Bernardo picked up the win for Amaralā€™s as he struck out nine before being relieved by Oliver Fleurent, who came on and tossed a hitless last inning. Jayce Cabral had three hits, Jack Fleurent, Bernardo and Mathieu Costa (first career hit) all had hits for Amaralā€™s. Liam Cubero and Nyrell Gonzalez each had multiple hits for Palace.

Wednesday, June 12

Tremblay Bus 11, Kitchens & Baths 7: Isaac Teixeira tossed the first 5 ā…” innings for the Bus Company striking out 12 before being relieved by teammate Tucker Wilcox, who came on to quiet a late K&B rally. Trailing 11-1 in the bottom of the sixth, K&B would score six runs but fall short in their comeback attempt. Nate Martinez, Syncere Lugo and Teixeira all had multiple hits for Tremblay. Myles Sequeira, Nolan Sousa and Ray Rourke Jr. each had two hits for the Kitchen Crew.

South Coast Towing 15, Wonder Bowl 2: Jose Martinez smacked two home runs and knocked in six runs, Cam Messier, Brayden Oliver, Brayden Douglas, and Brody Turgent all contributed at the plate to help the Tow Company to their 10th win of the season. Tanner Cabral continued his fine play for Wonder Bowl with two hits and an RBI, Zhakiye Guidry and Jayce Nova also had hits for Wonder Bowl.

Amaralā€™s Linguica 6, Apex Electrical 3: Jayce Cabral was the winning pitcher for Amaralā€™s. He went the first five innings, he allowed just one hit while striking out 11 Apex hitters before Jack Fleurent came on in the sixth inning. Maverick Andrews ripped a triple driving in a run. Aviana Pacheco, Oliver Fleurent, and Jack Fleurent had hits for Amaralā€™s. Dakota Gamage had a pair of hits for Apex.

Thursday, June 13

T.S. Sports 12, Table 8 Restaurant 0: Yaniel Talavera scored twice, Jackson Libby, Carter Correia, Mason Barbosa, Derek Dallaire and Kason Soares all tallied hits for T.S. Sports as they rolled to a convincing win. Correia and Wesley Rodrigues combined to pitch a no-hitter, the dynamic duo struck out 10 Table 8 hitters along the way.

Daveā€™s 9, A.C.G. 6: Jaedyn Clark was the winning pitcher for Daveā€™s as the big right hander pitched four innings, striking out seven along the way. Clark also had two hits and knocked in three runs. Logan Bielski ripped three extra base hits, Sean Pimental had three hits, also Maddox Santos drove in two runs to help his teamā€™s cause. Ludwig Berroa and Jeremiah Ortiz each had multiple hits for A.C.G.

LeBeauā€™s 9, N.B. Fire 2: Mason Graveson pitched the first 4 ā…” innings, scattering two hits, and striking out 12 Fire Department hitters along the way on his way to picking up the win. Mike Cesolini had two hits for N. B. Fire. Tatum Barbosa scored twice, Owen Viera knocked in two runs, and Landon Madeira knocked in a run as well. Eliana Camacho cracked her first career hit in the fourth inning for LeBeauā€™s.
