A Pluto landing is possible ... in this NASA video

A new video from NASA allows space enthusiasts to land on Pluto, all without leaving their couch.

The video, titled “A Colorful ‘landing’ on Pluto,’ was recently created with 100 images taken by NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft in the summer of 2015.

“The video offers a trip down onto the surface of Pluto -- starting with a distant view of Pluto and its largest moon, Charon -- and leading up to an eventual ride in for a "landing" on the shoreline of Pluto's informally named Sputnik Planitia,” NASA said in a statement.

According to NASA, mission scientists used black and white photos and later overlay low-resolution color from the Ralph color camera to give an accurate sense of how Pluto would look if you approached from above.

NASA released the footage on Jan. 19, and the clip already has over 500,000 views on YouTube.
