The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special was one of 2020’s unexpected treasures, full of heart, humor, and the magic of Life Day, the annual celebration of Wookiee culture. Now, Lucasfilm is bringing the spooky fun of Halloween to a new original special: Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales.

As with the previous special, Terrifying Tales is written by David Shayne, directed by Ken Cunningham, and animated by Atomic Cartoons. The voice cast includes Christian Slater as “Ren” (presumably Kylo Ren’s mentor from the Rise of Kylo Ren comics), Jake Green as Poe Dameron, Matt Sloan as Darth Vader, and Trevor Devall as Palpatine, along with Raphael Alejandro, Dana Snyder, Tony Hale, and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.

The Lego Star Wars Halloween special hit Disney+ on October 1, and—like last year’s holiday show—takes place after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.

Where to stream the ‘Star Wars’ Halloween special

You can stream Terrifying Tales, the Star Wars films, and everything else Disney+ has to offer wherever you’re connected to the internet. Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming service is available in Australia, Austria, Canada, the Channel Islands, France, Germany, India, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the U.S.

The platform will serve as the new home for Walt Disney Studios films as well as original, exclusive Disney+ content like Lucasfilm’s new Star Wars series—including The Mandalorian and the final season of The Clone Wars—and a full slate of live-action Marvel shows.

What’s ‘Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales’ about?

“After the events of The Rise of Skywalker, Poe and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar, where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt,” Disney explains in a new press release. The crime lord has taken ownership of Darth Vader’s castle, with plans to turn it into “the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel.”

Venturing into Vader’s fortress, Poe and BB-8 meet Vaneé, the Dark Lord’s servant, who first appeared in 2016’s Rogue One. “Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges.”

With Ben Solo redeemed and nowhere to be found after his sacrificial death at the end of Episode IX, it seems likely that Vaneé’s tale of Ren will focus on Solo’s one-time mentor and his mysterious knights. But the ghost-story potential in a setting like Vader’s castle is exciting, and last year’s holiday special set a pretty high bar.
