'Far Cry 6' is out today—here's where you can buy it

Far Cry 6 is the newest installment in the Far Cry series that sends players to the fictional Caribbean island Yara to fight against the country's dictatorship. As a former armed forces officer turned guerrilla fighter, players take on the role of Dani Rojas who is a central character in the country's revolution. Starting Thursday, October 7, you can purchase the Far Cry 6 and dive into what Ubisoft says is the largest Far Cry playground to date.

What is Far Cry 6 about?
The game's plot and overall look were partially inspired by Cuba and the Cuban Revolution, which returned the series to a more tropical setting similar to previous games. Because of the setting and story, Ubisoft decided to fully voice the protagonist to make it feel like Rojas has more of a personal investment in the events of Far Cry 6; In previous Far Cry games, the protagonist was silent, with only dialogue options for the player to choose from.
Far Cry 6 makes use of familiar game mechanics, too. Those who have played previous games in the series should enjoy interacting with wildlife and the environment, taking over military checkpoints, and exploring the world overall.
