Obama campaign seeks to cash in on Biden debate

The vice presidential debate is over -- time to cash in.

President Obama is sending out e-mails praising Vice President Biden's performance Thursday night -- and asking donors to give more money.

Some of the solicitations include a note from Biden himself, who tells supporters: "If you're standing with Barack and me, like we're standing with you, please chip in $5 or more to show it."

Mitt Romney and the Republicans are making similar appeals, praising running mate and Biden debate rival Paul Ryan.

Here is Biden's e-mailed note:

"Hey,

I did my best to make you proud tonight.

But I hope you remember one thing: This debate wasn't about me, or Congressman Ryan.

It was about you, and what we're fighting for together.

So if you're standing with Barack and me, like we're standing with you, please chip in $5 or more to show it:

Thanks,

Joe"
