President Obama took a break from debate practice Sunday by visiting a campaign office in Virginia, and even making a few voter calls.

"Hi, Griselda? This is Barack Obama," the president said during one call at the phone bank in Williamsburg. "I wanted to call and say thank you."

Obama -- who spent the weekend in debate preparation at a nearby resort -- continued: "I understand you're gonna be installed as a pastor at Trinity Baptist Church. ... You tell everybody at church I said 'hi.' ... And make sure they keep me in their prayers and keep Michelle and the girls in their prayers."

As reporters were escorted from the room, the president made a second call: "Is this Ellen? Ellen, this is Barack Obama ... It is! Really truly!"

While exiting, one reporter asked Obama: "How is debate prep going?"

Obama: "It is going great!"

Earlier, the president entered the campaign office bearing gifts -- four boxes of pizzas.

"Hello, everybody, hello!" Obama said. "I brought some food."
