Ohio: Obama leads one poll, tied in another

In such a close election, all eyes are on Ohio -- and the divergent polls there.

President Obama leads one new poll today and is tied with Republican Mitt Romney in another survey from the state that may well decide their election battle.

Obama leads Romney 50%-45% in Ohio, according to a new Quinnipiac University/CBS News poll, though that is half the margin the president had in the same poll last month.

Another survey, conducted by Angus Reid Public Opinion, has Obama and Romney tied at 48%.

The different polls reflect the different views of Ohio held by each campaign.

Both the Obama and the Romney forces feel they are in good shape to take the Buckeye State's 18 electoral votes.

Ohio seems particularly important for Romney -- no Republican has won the White House without it.

Obama's team believes that winning Ohio -- where the economy is improving and the auto bailout is popular -- would nail down a victory in the Electoral College.
