Obama's day: Prince William and Stephen Colbert
President Obama begins Monday with Prince William of the United Kingdom and ends it with comedian Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report.
In the morning, Obama welcomes William to the Oval Office as the prince makes a three-day visit to America.
"The president looks forward to thanking The Duke of Cambridge for the hospitality shown to him by the royal family during the president's recent visits to the United Kingdom," says the White House schedule. "This visit underscores the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom."
William's spouse — Kate Middleton, duchess of Cambridge — will not accompany the prince to the White House. She remained in New York City.
Also on Monday, Obama and Vice President Biden meet with a group of middle-school students who are participating in an "Hour of Code" event to honor Computer Science Education Week.
Late this afternoon, Obama heads to George Washington University for a taping of The Colbert Report.
Colbert portrays a faux conservative commentator on the program, which is in its last weeks of original programming. Next year, Colbert replaces the retiring David Letterman on CBS' late-night talk show.
