For the seventh time in a row -- and for every year of his White House tenure -- President Obama tops the Gallup poll's annual list of the nation's most admired men.

"The incumbent president is nearly always the winner of the most admired distinction, having placed first in all but 12 of the 68 years the question has been asked," Gallup reports.

When asked what man they admire the most, 19% of the poll respondents mentioned Obama; Pope Francis finished second with 6%, while former President Bill Clinton finished third at 3%.

The remainder of the top 11: Billy Graham, George W. Bush -- each with 2% -- Ben Carson, Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates, Bill O'Reilly, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Vladimir Putin, all of whom were named by 1% of poll respondents.

In the poll of most admired women, ex-secretary of state, former first lady, and potential 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton topped the survey for a record 19th time overall.

From Gallup:

"Obama has appeared on the top 10 list each year since 2006, including ranking No. 1 in each of the last seven years, all by healthy margins over the second-place finisher. ...

"Graham's top 10 finish this year brings his unprecedented total appearances on the list to 58. He has finished in the top 10 every year since 1963 (except 1976, when the question was not asked), as well as from 1955 to 1961. He has never ranked first, but did finish second every year from 1969 through 1974.

"(Bill) Clinton made the top 10 for the 23rd time, the fifth most behind Graham, Ronald Reagan, Carter and Pope John Paul II. Gates had his 15th top 10 finish this year, and Bush his 14th."
