Hawaiian Airlines is looking to hire 240 more flight attendants.

Hawaiian Airlines keeps growing.

The airline said this week it is looking to hire 240 new flight attendants, especially those who speak Mandarin, according to the Associated Press This comes after the carrier announced that it would start flying nonstop from Honolulu to Taipei next year. It is hoping to break into the mainland China market as well.

Competition for the new slots is fierce. The airline on Wednesday and Thursday was holding group interviews of about 3,000 people, KHON 2 TV in Hawaii reports. Applicants must pre-register online.

"Really what we are looking for is people who can be brand ambassadors for us, " Sunshine Topping, the airline's director of recruitment told KHON 2.
Right now, the carrier employs 4,800 people and plans to add 500 new employees next year.
"They're the No. 1 airlines out there. They are known for their on-time flights, their awesome quality customer service. I would just love to be a part of that," Wahiawa resident Kanani Chang-Viloria told the TV station.
