Deal watch: Norwegian Cruise Line extends promotion

The 164,600-ton Norwegian Escape is Norwegian Cruise Line's largest ship ever.

Norwegian Cruise Line has extended its Free at Sea promotion, which brings free perks with new bookings.

The Miami-based cruise operator says customers now have until Nov. 30 to get up to five value-added options that include an Unlimited Beverage Package, a Specialty Dining Package and prepaid service charges.

The other options are a package for 250 minutes of WiFi and, on select sailings, the ability to bring a third and fourth passenger in a cabin for free.

Customers booking an ocean-view cabin, balcony cabin or mini-suite during the promotion can choose from two of the five options. Those who book a room in one of the exclusive Haven complexes on Norwegian ships or a suite will get all five perks. Those booking a windowless "inside" cabin or a one-person studio cabin only will get one of the perks.

The offer is available for sailings of three nights or longer.

Norwegian's Specialty Dining Package includes dinners at specialty restaurants that normally come with an extra charge. The Ultimate Beverage Package includes wine, beer and cocktails. A caveat: While the packages are free under the promotion, passengers still must pay a mandatory 18% gratuity on their retail value unless they are in a suite or Haven cabin.
