Viral video: Girl gets stuck inside panda enclosure, pandas mind their own business

Video of an 8-year-old girl getting stuck inside a panda enclosure on Saturday in China – and the pandas ignoring her – has gone viral.

The girl found herself approximately 6-and-a-half feet below the viewing area in a ditch at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in the province of Sichuan, according to local media. 

In a video of the incident, the crowd above looks on as the girl tries to grab onto a pole to help her up. Per China Daily, a worker from the park, Liu Guihua, attempts to fish her out using a bamboo rod. 

As this happens, the nearby pandas approach the girl but don't try to harm her, apparently not caring enough about what was going on.

Eventually, Guihua leans over far enough to offer the girl a hand and pull her to safety, China Daily and the South China Morning Post report.
