Compare Jacksonville internet providers

Xfinity is the most widely available, providing service at nearly every residence. AT&T covers about two-thirds of the area and is popular for its superior speeds and fiber internet connection. AT&T and Xfinity are the only hard-wired internet providers in Jacksonville.

The remaining options are 5G or satellite internet, which use over-the-air wireless signals from a satellite or cell tower. While these wireless methods can be more susceptible to slow Wi-Fi or speed throttling, they offer excellent support for rural internet users.

Methodology

We rated the largest internet providers in the U.S. for 2024. Each provider was rated on a scale of 1 to 5 based on over a dozen factors, including speed, cost, availability, fees, customer satisfaction, connection type and more. We also used data from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to compare the average speed offered by internet companies in the U.S. to set a baseline for what is considered a good internet speed. Additionally, we analyzed data from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) to understand how each internet service provider (ISP) fares in customer service and perceived value.

How to choose an internet provider in Jacksonville, FL

  • Estimate the number of devices (e.g., laptops, tablets, etc.) connected simultaneously in your household and select an internet speed that supports your internet use. Speeds of 300 Mbps and up work well for gaming, streaming, and many connected devices. For light internet use and fewer devices, any basic plan should suffice.
  • Decide on a price range that fits your monthly budget, making sure to factor in other costs like equipment fees. Note the standard rate and the length of the promotion to make sure the service is still affordable later on.
  • Consider what internet connection type is best for you. Fiber internet is ideal for the fast upload speeds that are necessary for uploading large files. Cable internet is sufficient for streaming and browsing. 5G internet is easy to set up on your own. Satellite internet works well for rural areas.
