Best Mediacom internet plans
See what we think of Mediacom’s top internet offers to choose the best option for your home. The wide variety of plans allow Mediacom to fit into most budgets, all with good starting value.
Internet 100 – Most budget-friendly plan
Starting at about $25/mo., Mediacom’s Internet 100 plan can power a small household of one or two internet users. With speeds up to 100 Mbps, you can email and browse social media on two devices simultaneously or stream videos on one device. This is a solid, cheap internet plan that is perfect for light internet users. This is one of the cheapest internet plans available in the U.S.
Internet 300 – Best for average connected homes
With 300 Mbps for $44.99/mo., Mediacom’s Internet 300 plan will power a household of three to four internet users streaming, gaming and working from home without lag. The $45/mo. price tag is $15–$25 cheaper than Optimum’s or Spectrum’s nearest plans.
Internet 1000 – Best for the fastest speeds
At $59.99/mo., Mediacom’s Internet 1000 plan is the fastest plan the provider offers and is one of the cheapest high-speed internet prices in the country. With gig speed, you can power your large smart home and have five to six internet users online simultaneously.
Methodology
We rated the largest internet providers in the U.S. for 2024. Each provider was rated on a scale of 1 to 5 based on over a dozen factors, including speed, cost, availability, fees, customer satisfaction, connection type and more. We also used data from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to compare the average speed offered by internet companies in the U.S. to set a baseline for what is considered a good internet speed. Additionally, we analyzed data from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) to understand how each internet service provider (ISP) fares in customer service and perceived value.
How we reviewed Mediacom
We rated Mediacom a 3 out of 5, with the provider falling into the middle of the pack for customer satisfaction and availability but ranking lower than comparable providers for its data cap limits and required contracts.
Mediacom overview
Mediacom is one of the cheapest internet providers, with plans starting at $24.99/mo. for up to 100 Mbps. Equipment costs are $14/mo. to rent a modem and router, or you can provide your own. Its cable internet plans offer more speed and are close in price with larger providers like Xfinity, which starts around $20 for up to 75 Mbps. Its gig plan runs $54.99/mo. compared to Spectrum’s $79.99/mo. and Xfinity’s $80/mo.
Data caps could add fees
All of Mediacom’s plans have data caps, which means you may incur charges if you exceed your limit, or your speed will be throttled until the next month’s cycle begins. If you exceed the allowed data, expect $10 for each additional whole or partial block of 50 GB of usage to be added to your next bill.
Price increases after 12 months
Something to consider is Mediacom’s price increases after the promo period or 12-month period ends. The lowest plan will jump by just $10/mo., but the 300, 600 and 1,000 Mbps plans nearly double in cost.
Contracts
Mediacom requires a service agreement on most plans, and those vary from one- to three-year terms. If you end your agreement early, you’ll pay up to $240 with two- and three-year agreements and $120 with a one-year agreement.
Mediacom cable and internet packages
For budget-conscious customers, Mediacom offers over a dozen bundle deals that are fairly reasonable. For example, for $29.99/mo., you can get the Access Internet 60 + Local TV package, which gives you an internet speed of up to 60 Mbps with 60 TV channels. Below are some of the popular internet and TV bundles available.

Internet 100 + Variety TV | $99.99/mo. | 170+ | Up to 100 Mbps |
Internet 300 + Local TV | $59.99/mo. | 50+ | Up to 300 Mbps |
Internet 300 + Variety TV | $109.99/mo. | 170+ | Up to 300 Mbps |

Internet 1 Gig + Variety TV | $129.99/mo. | 170+ | Up to 1000 Mbps |
