New sports headed to
Tokyo 2020

Four new sports will debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Karate 

The competition will have two disciplines for both men and women: kata (forms)
and kumite (sparring). 

Skateboarding

Men's and women's Olympic skateboarding will consist of two events: park and street.

Sport Climbing

Men and women will be competing in speed climbing, bouldering and lead climbing. 

Surfing

Women and men shortboard competitors will hit Japan's
coast for its inaugural
Olympic competition.

Two more sports are returning to the Olympics after being absent the last two years. 

Men's Baseball

Baseball returns to the Olympic program for the first
time in 13 years.

Women's Softball

Four teams will be battling for gold for the first time since 2008.
