Beverly Ann (Balch) Price, former resident of Deerfield and Clinton, NY, died Monday, July 8th at Elderwood at Ticonderoga Nursing Home. She was born February 1, 1930 in Utica, NY, the 4th child and only daughter of Joseph Harold Balch and Anna Wood Balch.

Bev graduated from Westmoreland Central School. She then received certification in elementary education and special education at SUNY Geneseo. After college, she joined the faculty at Potter School in Utica. Bev treasured the lifelong friendships made there faculty, parents and students.

On July 30th, 1960, Bev and Russell E Price of Utica were married. After spending several years at home caring for their children, her mother and great-aunt, Bev returned to teaching at Poland Central School.

Bev was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her three brothers (Clifford, Carlton, and Harland Balch).

Bev leaves behind her daughters and son-in laws, Diane Price (Chris Zito), and Carolyn (Patrick) Ida and a granddaughter, Lillith Ida (fiancé Thomas Roy).

Keeping with Bev’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Memorials may be made to your local library to celebrate Bev’s love of reading.
