Mr. Harry C. Cummings, 92, a resident of the Eastern Star Nursing Home in Oriskany, formerly of Marcy, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Wynn Hospital in Utica, with his loving family by his side.

Harry was born in Utica, on February 5, 1932, the son of Harry and Helen (Fehlner) Cummings. He was raised and educated in Utica, was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and attended St. Francis Seminary on Staten Island, NY. Harry proudly served in the US Air Force from 1952 until his honorable discharge in 1956. On July 24, 1954, Harry was united in marriage with Elizabeth Kobosinski at Holy Trinity Church in Utica. For many years, he was employed as manager of quality control with General Electric Company in Utica. Harry was a parishioner of Historic Old St. John’s Church in Utica, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was an active volunteer at church. He was also a gifted and talented wood worker.

Mr. Cummings is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Bruce Koppe of Caledonia, NY and Deborah and Robert Weigand of N. Utica; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Cheryl Cummings of Marcy as well as 10 cherished grandchildren, 11 adored great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Cummings.

There are no services planned for Harry at this time.

Mr. Cummings’ family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Wynn Hospital as well as Dr. Win for the wonderful care. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Eastern Star Home, especially Harry’s niece, Sue Capalupo, for the loving and compassion care you provided to Harry.
