Some of the funniest moments on the internet can stem from someone telling a joke and the respondent giving a genuine reaction rather than being in on said joke. A TikToker recently, intentionally, confused E-40 with Fat Joe and the Vallejo, Calif., rapper went off.
The TikToker was allegedly a comedian whose entire gimmick is purposely mistaking celebrities for other celebrities. He walked up to the 56-year-old rapper in what appeared to be a convention center and said, “I knew that was you, bro. Fat Joe! Fat Joe, bro! You ain’t Fat Joe?”
The “Tell Me When To Go” artist was visibly confused and answered, “Who said that? Fat Joe? Yeah, I was just with him.” The comedian asked if he was Fat Joe and 40 replied, “No. You calling me Fat Joe? You a comedian,” with the last sentence being especially humorous given the fact he actually was a comedian. Nonetheless, E-40 continued his rant. “You know that’s childish, right? Come on, man. When was you born? 2024? Get the f**k out of here, man. That’s childish. Do your homework.” Watch below.
This joke was also a hilarious coincidence because E-40 and Fat Joe were together recently. They performed at Joe Biden’s campaign rally in Raleigh, N.C., at the end of June. A CBS News reporter was in the building and revealed that 40 performed “Tell Me When To Go” and his verse on “Snap Yo Fingers.” As for Joey Crack, he performed “Lean Back” and “All The Way Up.”
E-40 added to his legendary career with his November 2023 album Rule Of Thumb: Rule 1. The 23-song LP featured YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Gucci Mane, Larry June, Too $hort, Trae Tha Truth, and more. Though the Mount Westmore artist is still contributing to the game, he did express some concerns for the state of Hip-Hop at the end of 2023.
“I don’t like where it’s at,” he told CBS Mornings this past December. “Because I feel like it’s not enough creativity. Everyone sounds the same. A lot of copycats. I’m not tryna act like I’m hella positive. But I am because I’m a storyteller. The things that sound like they ain’t positive, I talk about the repercussions and consequences if you do this. I’m a storyteller.”
