Egg Surprise

** MARJAN PEJOSKI ** admits that although he hoped ** Bjork ** would wear his now-famous swan dress to this year's Oscars, he didn't hear she had until the following morning. "You never believe it until you see it," he says. "It was a very nice surprise." Even more of a surprise, however, was that the high-pitched Icelandic beauty lifted her skirt to lay an egg at the end of the red carpet. "I really laughed when I heard that," he goes on. "It was fantastic of her. So rebellious, at a traditional occasion like the Oscars. I respect tradition of course, but everybody and everything deserves to be laughed at from time to time." Pejoski met Bjork four years ago and his eccentric sense of style was first thrown into the limelight when she chose to wear his pink concertina-ed dress to the Cannes Film Festival last year. "Not everybody understands my style," goes on the Macedonian-born designer. "But I don't care about bad publicity. If you are an artist you don't expect everyone to love what you do. And anyway, I love that there has been such an issue. How awful if nobody had noticed the dresses, or made any comment about them." And next stop for this ultra-hip style maker just might be the silver screen. "I never wanted to be the next ** Calvin Klein ** ," he says. "I'd love to get involved in creating films in the same vein as ** Peter Greenaway ** - where the entire visual experience is a really beautiful one. But I'm waiting for the perfect opportunity to come my way. For the moment I am just working very hard on the new collection."
