The Killing Drama Spills Off Screen

IT would seem that the drama isn't confined to fiction where The Killing is concerned. The Danish company, Gudrun & Gudrun, which made protagonist Sarah Lund's sweaters - the intarsia woollen knits that proved as cultish as the series itself - has lost its legal battle to prevent a rival brand from making the same version.

Gudrun Rógvadóttir, owner of the eponymously named Faroe Islands based brand, argued that Stof og Sy, also Danish, had infringed on copyright laws by creating kits containing yarn and the pattern for the famous sweater from which people could knit their own, reports The Observer. Stof of Sy owner Lene Langballe successfully counter argued that the design was in fact hundreds of years old and therefore couldn't be owned by any one brand.
