Vanessa Hudgens proved herself a disciple of Rihanna at the 2024 Oscars Vanity Fair After-Party. The actor, who hosted the pre-show in a much more conservative Vera Wang dress—where she also announced her pregnancy—opted for a decidedly sexier look for the after-party.
Hudgens traded her body-hugging Vera Wang for a sheer, goddess-like Alberta Ferretti. The off-the-shoulder dress featured a deep V neckline and a flowing cape which trailed behind her. Underneath she wore a pair of black panties and black strappy Gianvito Rossi heels. As for jewelry, she traded her classic Chopard jewels for a pair of funky oversized gold and diamond earrings—and her belly button ring, which shined underneath the diaphanous black dress.
Rihanna was a notable fan of sheer dressing throughout her pregnancies. In perhaps her most memorable maternity look, the singer wore a mesh and lace Dior babydoll dress to the fall 2022 show in Paris. Vogue’s Michelle Ruiz even claimed that Rihanna’s bump-baring fashion marked a turning point in pregnancy style. But Hudgens has been a longtime fan of sheer dressing herself, even wearing it to the Met Gala, where she rocked a see-through Moschino look, and at the fall 2022 Valentino show, she donned a lacy lavender minidress.
