‘American Idol’: Jason Castro Commits a Capital Offense
Last night, in a transparent attempt to ensure that David Cook and Jason Castro make it to next week’s episode, American Idol producers had each of the four surviving contestants sing two selections from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs That Shaped Rock (or 90 seconds of them, anyway). Sadly, their plans were foiled when Cook turned in the world’s most boring Simon Le Bon impersonation and Jason Castro opted to perform “I Shot the Sheriff,” which, needless to say, was completely hilarious. Also, Syesha broke down crying for nothing and compared her performance to the civil-rights movement, which also probably doesn’t bode well for Jason’s non-elimination.
