Matthew Perry has signed on to star in a new pilot for NBC, the network on which he played Friends’ Chandler Bing for over a decade. The show is called Go On and it’s a single-camera comedy about a sportscaster going to mandatory group therapy. The pilot was written by Scott Silveri, who was a showrunner on Friends, and who said that he wrote the pilot with Perry’s voice in mind: “When I started writing the character, no matter who I was thinking of at 9 AM, by 10 AM I was writing with Matthew’s voice … ” So we guess that means you can expect to hear some trademark, “Could this be any more of an emotional therapy session?”–style punch lines.
