Your host Megan Mullally kicked off the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday for a night of, well, not too many award surprises. If you’ve been keeping track this season, you won’t be shocked to hear the evening’s first three awards resulted in a Marvelous Mrs. Maisel sweep. Tony Shalhoub and Rachel Brosnahan took home Outstanding Performance by a Male and Female Actor in a Comedy Series, respectively, while the cast en masse won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Despite its multiple nominations, the night’s only award for Ozark went to Jason Bateman for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. A Star Is Born lost all four of its categories, with Glenn Close taking home Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor for The Wife.
The evening’s other notable moments included Black Panther’s win for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, Escape at Dannamora star Patricia Arquette’s shout-out to Robert Mueller during her Outstanding Performance in a Miniseries acceptance speech and Hugh Grant’s charming admission that, yeah, he hasn’t seen any of this year’s drama nominees. Meanwhile, Alan Alda was given a much-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award. You can read the full list of the evening’s winners below.
