The second season of Hulu’s Castle Rock has a trailer, and it looks like there’s plenty of Misery to go around. In the next installment, which pivots to different characters and story lines than the first one, warring clans in this most spooky burg are reaching a fever pitch in their feud, just as the infamous Annie Wilkes comes to town. Lizzy Caplan plays the insidious nurse made famous by Kathy Bates in the 1990 film Misery, and she looks … chillingly well-casted for the role.
She’s joined by Tim Robbins, who will play Reginald “Pop” Merrill; Garrett Hedlund, who will be John “Ace” Merrill, Pop’s nephew who takes over his business; Yusra Warsama, who will play Dr. Nadia Omar, who lives in the neighboring town of Jerusalem’s Lot; and Barkhad Abdi, of Captain Phillips fame, will join as Abdi Omar, the doctor’s brother. You’ll also catch Elsie Fisher in this trailer, playing the newly created character of Wilkes’s daughter, Joy. Castle Rock starts streaming on October 23.
